Why Christian Bible Studies?

The short answer is these are Topical Christian Bible studies because from Genesis to Revelation, the Bible is about Christ. It's not possible to study the Bible without studying Christ. Hence the title "Christian Bible Studies.

The longer answer is the Bible clearly claims to be more than: science, poetry, history, and literature. The Bible claims to be God's communication to man.

Listen to the first words, from the first paragraph, from the first book of the Bible:

"IN THE BEGINNING, GOD" ... (Genesis 1:1).

Just these four words imply much about the speaker, who claims to be self-existent before the beginning. When was the beginning? Well in your imagination, how far back into eternity past can you travel? When you get there, the speaker says He exists beyond that!

One writer said it this way:
"Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the world, from the vanishing point of eternity past to the vanishing point of eternity future, you are God." Psalms 90:2 (NIV)

Not only does the speaker claim to be Eternal, but He also flatly claims Diety. It's striking that God makes no attempt to explain Himself. He simply communicates Himself. He permits His Word to be accepted or rejected by the individual as he/she wills. In this way the Bible is put forth as God's communication (Logos) to man.

Indeed: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" John 1:1 (NIV). This statement implies that God's nature is tied up with, and inseparable from His Word (communication).

The Logos further reveals that "Through him (The Word) all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made." " John 1:3 (NIV). Thus the Word is one and the same as the self existent, eternal speaker identified in Genesis 1:1. Whew!

Now, as striking and interesting as this is; God reveals more of Himself and His plan for humanity in this next statement. "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us." John 1:14 (NIV)

Breathe deeply and consider. The Eternal Being who identifies Himself as God in Genesis 1:1, and as the Word in John 1:1, and as The Creator in John 1:3; reveals in the above statement, that He clothed Himself in flesh and walked among us as a human being (Is anything too hard for God?). Awesome.

This Being when He walked among us was known as the Christ or Messiah. His title is the Christ. His name is Jesus.

From the opening words, the Bible is all about God communicating through His Word, who is Christ Jesus.

God's Holy Spirit speaking thru the writer of Hebrews says:
"In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways,
2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.
3 The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being ..."

Hebrews 1:1-3 (NIV)
"THE EXACT REPRESENTATION OF (God) HIS BEING ... "

This site is called "Topical Christian Bible Studies" because the topic of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation is Christ. As you wander the pages of Christian Bible Studies.Net; you can't help but observe the centrality of Christ in the Bible.

God does not try to explain or justify Himself. He doesn't need to. He's God. But He does communicate Himself in His Word. In a similar fashion our aim is to communicate the Spirit of God to your human spirit by and thru His Word.

However, in the process of communicating His Word, our love, excitement, and awe, of our God will likely be unavoidably evident.
